Kinetico’s latest K5 reverse osmosis (RO) drinking water purifier is unique and presented in a very different way to the traditional ‘look’ of an RO system.
The three cartridges, including membrane, are mounted into a stylish cabinet along with the main workings of the system.
This enables the link tubing to the pure water storage tank to be much simpler.
In fact the typical RO fitting scenario has been completely overhauled making a K5 installation quick and surprisingly easy.

The unit is also ’future proofed’. The cabinet can take up to five cartridges offering eight options. Different cartridges can be supplied to give varying levels in water purity.
One version, the Purefecta, is equipped with ‘Pall’ filters to provide removal of 99.99% virus and 99.99999% of bacteria.
In another variant a remineralistion cartridge can be added.
The versatility of the K5 matches its advanced technology.
The storage tank is mains water pressurised giving a constant output. The flow rate from the tap is around two times greater than anyother drinking water system.
The K5 also uses a patented ’Everclean Rinse’. The membrane is cleaned with RO water.
When not in use it ’rests’ in RO water, which dramatically extends membrane life. There is also a filter life indicator which shuts the RO down when the capacity has been reached.
Cartridge replacement is a simple bayonet ‘in’ and ‘out’ procedure.

The design of the K5 closely resembles the Kinetico 2020c water softener and they make an attractive duo, particularly when installed together under a kitchen sink.
There is no doubt that the K5 is a major step forward in RO technology.
There is nothing in the market that it can be compared with, particularly as it can be referred to as a microbiological purifier.
